Bright, expressive pu'er for true connoisseurs from wild trees ("Ye Sheng") in the Jinggu region, produced and pressed in a micro-batch of 30 kg exclusively for Art of Tea.

Raw Material Features:

  • Mighty, wild tea trees, over 200 years old;
  • High-altitude area in a hidden place on Mount Ku Zhu Shan (Jinggu region), altitude over 2000 m;
  • Completely hand-processed, delicate handling of selected raw material by an experienced master;
  • Harvested to order, spring 2023;
  • Pu'er from Ancient Trees

Raw material collected from wild ancient tea trees.

Aroma:

Delicate yet deep, multi-faceted, floral-fruity, and intoxicatingly honeyed.

Infusion Color:

Greenish with a golden hue. Light and clear.

Taste and Aftertaste:

Due to the unique raw material, the tea's taste is soft, juicy, refreshing, with pronounced notes of exotic fruits and flowers, and a slight pleasant bitterness typical of "wild" tea. It withstands boiling water and long infusions well, with the taste becoming brighter and richer, and sweetness emerging.

The aftertaste is long, full-bodied, with notes of linden honey and a menthol freshness.

Interesting Already Today:

With further aging, it will actively change in taste and aroma, gaining body and richness.

Effects:

Powerful yet smooth, noble, and intoxicating.

Format:

200-gram tea cake. Comes with a branded zip-lock for convenient storage.

Brewing Instructions:

Use a porcelain gaiwan or clay teapot, water temperature 95°C. Make short infusions, but don’t hesitate to hold longer to see how the tea's taste unfolds. Read more about how to properly brew sheng pu'er in our article.

What Else to Try from Ku Zhu Shan?

From the same raw material, we produced a batch of red Shaihong cakes. The same raw material, but different processing techniques — it’s interesting to compare and find the similarities!
