Jin Jun Mei "Golden Eyebrows"
Jin Jun Mei "Golden Eyebrows"
"Golden Eyebrows" (Jin Jun Mei) — a renowned Chinese red tea from the northern region of Fujian Province. Although relatively new, with a history dating back to the mid-2000s, this red tea has quickly gained deserved popularity. Fujian tea masters adapted the traditional production method of leaf-based Xiao Zhong teas to create a process specifically for the youngest, most delicate spring buds.
Aroma
Complex, rich, and delicate. Notes of bread and chocolate intertwine with the scent of strawberries.
Taste
Sweet, clean, pastry-like, with jammy caramel tones. A long-lasting, pleasant aftertaste with a sweet-sour hint (like tart-sweet apples).
Effects
Classic warming effect of red tea, yet also relaxing and soothing.
Harvest
Spring 2024, Fujian Province, China.
Brewing Instructions
Warm the teaware well before placing the Golden Eyebrows inside. Wait ten seconds for the heat to fully awaken the tea’s aroma. Slightly lift the lid, take a deep breath... Exquisite!
To bring out the full potential of Jin Jun Mei, use a thin-walled porcelain gaiwan and brew it with short infusions. Use 4-5 grams of tea per 100 ml of water. For a soft, delicate flavor, use water cooled to 85°C. For a bolder, richer taste, use boiling water, but be mindful that the buds may release a slight bitterness. Make quick infusions to enjoy an aesthetic tea experience to the fullest!
